Standby diesel generators for Sizewell B nuclear power station

The reliability of Walton’s valves make them ideally suited for use on emergency power generators.

One example of this demanding application is the use of Walton direct operated valves to control the temperature of standby diesel generators installed at the UK’s Sizewell ‘B’ nuclear power station. These generators would play a vital role in providing emergency power to the plant in the event of a major failure.

Sizewell ‘B’ began operating in 1995 and has a capacity of 1188MW.  The plant is expected to continue operating until 2035.
