Hydraulic lift for Amphibious Helicopter Carrier

Walton’s electrically operated valves are installed on the hydraulic lift coolers of the Royal Navy’s newest assault ship, H.M.S. Ocean.

Officially designated an Amphibious Helicopter Carrier, H.M.S. Ocean displaces 21,500 tonnes, and is 208 metres long. The ship can carry 500 troops and an extra 300 in emergencies.  She can operate up to 18 helicopters and in a time of war is also capable of transporting and operating Sea Harrier aircraft.  The lifts are an essential part of her capability, enabling the helicopters and Harriers to be raised to and from her main deck.
