Walton's direct operated valves are installed on the Reactor Cooling Circuits of all the Royal Navy's nuclear powered submarines of the Swiftsure, Trafalgar and Vanguard Classes.  They have also been selected for the Astute Class currently under construction by BAe Systems.

Walton was able to meet the stringent quality requirements demanded by these applications.

Walton's direct operated valves are installed on the main engine cooling systems of the US Navy's Mine Countermeasures Ships.

Powered by 4 diesel engines, these 1312 ton vessels are capable of finding and destroying moored and bottom mines.

Walton's direct operated valves control the temperature of the diesel generators aboard the "Castoro Otto", a pipelaying vessel operating in the offshore industry.

The "Castoro Otto" has recently been busy working on a project to lay a gas pipeline across the Black Sea.  This will be used to transport natural gas from Russia to Turkey.

The reliability of Walton's direct operated valves make them ideally suited for temperature control of the UK's Sizewell 'B' nuclear power station standby diesel generators.

Sizewell 'B' began operating in 1995 and has a capacity of 1188MW.  The plant is expected to continue operating until 2035.
