The Walton RP305 Projector has been designed for the accurate and rapid inspection of all types of manufactured components. The optical system is of the highest quality, utilising precision optical components usually found in the more sophisticated machines and the case construction includes an internal rigid frame which maintains correct optical alignment under the most arduous conditions. It is safe to say that a better optical quality would be difficult to achieve. This high optical quality combined with the precision mechanical workstage makes the Walton RP305 Projector one of the most versatile and accurate measuring instruments available. This profile projector enables efficient quality control to be maintained on the shop floor, in the toolroom, and in the inspection department. It is ideally suited to all sizes of engineering works. Projection LensThe Lens are fully corrected Precision Projection Lenses, designed and manufactured by one of the leading companies in Europe. These Lenses ensure a sharply defined and accurate image, free from aberrations and distortion over the whole screen area. The optical components have been specially coated to give maximum transmission and freedom from reflections. The Lenses can be interchanged from one magnification to another in a matter of seconds, without any kind of adjustment being necessary. They are available in 10X, 20X, and 50X magnification standard, and 25X. The MirrorThe mirror is ¾ " (19mm) thick specially selected optical glass, worked flat within 30 millionths of an inch .00003, and spherically true within 2 millionths .000002. The front surface is fully aluminised and silicon monoxide coated to give an extremely durable and highly reflective mirror surface. Screen Vernier ScaleAngular measurements are obtained to within 5’ of arc by revolving the screen and measuring the angle using a vernier scale. Light SourceThe light source consists of a 50 watt Halogen (Tungsten-Iodine) lamp to provide the high intensity illumination, and a specially designed condenser system to provide the necessary closely collimated beam of light suitable for all magnifications without any adjustment. (Most projectors require a separate condenser for each magnification of lenses.) The ScreenThe viewing Screens are of optically flat glass, finely hand-ground to produce sharp and distinct images with maximum contrast, and with patterns etched to very precise tolerances. Six standard variations of screen are available in both inch and metric readings and may be interchanged in a few seconds. Screens other than standard are available on request. Raking Light SourceTo inspect screw thread forms, normal to axis and other similar components, provision is made by use of an adjustment raking lamp. FiltersFilters are available in either Red, Green and Yellow and are easily fitted or changed. The Green and Yellow filters are recommended for inspection procedures involving long periods of viewing. The Red filter will give contrast when surface illumination is being used in conjunction with profile projection. Measuring StageThe Measuring Stage is adjustable in vertical, horizontal and focusing planes. Vertical movement is actuated by a precision lead screw, and controlled for fine movement by the easily reached hand-wheel. Horizontal and focusing movements are controlled by precision racks and pinions. The simple and quick adjustment of the measuring stage is one of the major features of the Walton RP 305 Projector, offering great advantages to the production line operation for checking purposes. A tee-slot enables centres and other accessories to be accurately fitted. A non-glare treatment is applied for minimum reflection. Digital IndicatorsDial Indicators are fitted to both the vertical and horizontal planes and enables accurate measurements to be taken in both axes. The indicators offer dual imperial or metric readings over 25mm (1”) travel. Gauge Block SupportA gauge block support is also provided for holding gauge blocks in position. Flat Object HolderA flat object holder is available for measuring and holding thin and flat objects which are difficult to hold by conventional means. Overlay ChartsOverlay charts are available on request. Combination Centre and Vee BlocksThese fit quickly and accurately into the tee-slot in the measuring stage, and are easily adjustable to hold long or short work pieces for inspection. There are female centres in the opposite end from the male. HoodWhere difficult light conditions exist, the projector can be fitted with a Hood which is supplied as an extra accessory. Provision exists on all projectors for this attachment. Dust CoverEach machine is supplied with a heavy duty plastic dust cover. Surface IlluminationSurface Illumination can be fitted as original equipment or added as a retro – fitted extra at anytime. A separate light source is provided. This comprises of a 150 watt Diacrylic bulb. Light is carried via two fibre optic light guides to the viewing surface and the light transmitting heads may be adjusted to any angle by means of adjustable arms. The entire unit is cooled by a fan, thus guaranteeing that maximum life is obtained from the bulb.
